Hi. We have a bunch of CF-30 MK-3 models and one lousy MK1 model.
I made the mistake of trying to use Acronis to clone from the MK3 to the MK1.
Of course it blue screened right away.
I called Panasonic tech support and they told me you cannot clone between these two models.
So I decide to just build the MK1 from scratch. Problem is, I can't boot to it now.
I tried the recovery CD but of course I have the MK3 CD, not the MK1.
Tried my XP CD and that will boot but it can't find the hard drive.
Called Panaosonic again and they said I need to download the SATA drivers from their website before I can put on my own version of XP.
Good Grief, Chuck Brown, what a nightmare.

Yes, I hear you. It is a pain. What you need is a XP disc with the SATA drivers slipstreamed or all drivers for that matter.
Or get one from ebay. I bought recovery disc for CF-30 MK1 MK2 and MK3 all from the bay.
Sometime just printing a document is major task.

Oh! yah.. its a pain onthe as... you need a floppy drive too in order to install the driver. Thats why it is much better if you have a recovery disk. I dont know why? instead of moving forward its going backward to the old days of installing the OS, Lol

You can also use nLite to slipstream the SATA drivers onto an install of XP (might as well put in the service packs and security updates too!) and just install from that.
That might be easier than trying to find a floppy drive AND a floppy disk! -
Thanks for the input, guys.
Obviously, my message was more therapeutic than anything.
