I have a friend that works for the Forestry dept and their handheld GPS is VERY accurate, within a foot or so. Is there some way to increase the accuracy of the laptop GPS? (Looking at TechTuff's SIRF-4) Extended antenna system? Different software?

This is more of an academic question as I usually use my Garmin handheld in the woods and the laptop in Camp to import waypoints and view them on a full size screen/map. The accuracy of ~10 feet is plenty close, just wondering how they get them so much more accurate.

Use the U-blox module if you want accuracy. It depends.

    Horizontal position accuracy 2.5 m

    SBAS 2.0 m

    SBAS + PPP7 < 1 m (2D, R50)

    SBAS + PPP < 2 m (3D, R50)
