A little techno babble here. EDIT DELETE REF TO MARK 2
1. USB devices are not shown in Bios. (Touchscreen (TS) for instance ) on CF-30 MK 1 and CF-19 MK1.
2. Before repairing or replacing a TS panel insure that the system "sees" the Fujitsu TS. If not "seen" (see below) you may have a fuse issue. The fuse must be replaced before proceeding. Not my field.Perhaps someone has a picture or six. (anyone?) The fuse should be near the TS connector on top of the mobo and under the keyboard. We really need a picture here.
![]()
3. If the Fujitsu is "seen" by the OS (Operating System) then Human Interface Devices will be visible in [Device Manager] whether or NOT that isClicking (expanding) will show Fujitsu Touch Panel (USB).
4. If HID is visible then go on to repair or replace the TS.
If someone is interested would they blow the corresponding fuse on a CF-29 and see if Touchscreen disappears in the Bios.Just curious but not THAT curious.

This my or my not help,my cf-30 Mk1 did show Fujitsu touch panel USB in the devise manager and still would not work,so I just decided to live without it.
then one day I was serching on panasonic site for a different drivers and found Fujitsu Componet Dated 11/16/2006 named FCL USB pen tablet version 1.0.0.2,so i decided to try it and now my touch screen works just fine and I calibrated it useing the pen touch in control panel.
It now shows up in device manager as FCL USB pen tablet. I was just going to buy a new touch screen but now I,m glad I didn't give in so easy.I was under the impression that if it didn't show up in the bios that I didn't have it but thats not true for the usb touch screen. -
This is how it shows up now.

So:
1. Does it show up under HID?
2. Sounds to me like the Touchscreen was working or is working Intermittently and you didn't have the correct driver originally.
Small bet here. If you ran factory restore for a Mk 1 right now your TS would work as designed.
BUT: If it's working and you are happy, stick with it. If it's not broke fix it till it is.
Any yellow marks in that [device manager]?
Thanks,
Jeff....I think we're cross posting....be right back -

You were a step ahead of me. Interesting. The only thing in my HID is "Fujitsu Touch Panel (USB)".
I'm talking 15 units here. I just repaired 8 of 9. The ninth was the one with the blown fuse on the board. FWIW #9 involved repairing touch panel, removing and replacing TS PCB (in the lid)plugging and un-plugging to check on corrosion. Then I physically checked the fuses. One was bad I believe but I don't have the equipment (eyes) to fix it.
It's neat that your's is working.
If you ever get near another CF-30 MK1 (working) borrow the drive for a bit, run it in your machine and check the device manager. I'd be curious to know the results.
Long phone call....sorry.
Jeff -
Right you are and thank you. I should have verified it before. For now we are dealing with Mark 1 CF-19 TS and MK 1 CF-30 TS.
The main point of this is the HID link. No HID = blown fuse. Thanks for the info. I was going on memory or lack thereofon the MK 2.
Jeff -
I'll revive this old thread. You guys touched on something that has me stumped.
I am building a CF-30 MK2 which I will eventually load with W7. Right now I am running the stock Vista OS. The BIOS has "Touchscreen - Tablet - Auto" choice. The touchscreen will only calibrate when in Tablet mode.
Why are there two options? Is there a digitizer on this too? How do you calibrate in Touchscreen mode? -
Looking at the Panasonic Instruction sheet FWIW touchscreen driver is optional. There is some interesting reading in the .txt file found in C:\util\tscreen. Re:TABLET assigning hid devices.
As for the TOUCHSCREEN I am getting "device not supported "on a CF-19R Win 7 and a CF-30K Vista....what's up with that?
I'm referring to downloads from Panasonic driver support jp.
I know the Fujitsu and the Fujitsu Takimisawa TS require a driver to convert USB. I can do this all day with a MK1 CF-30 but the CF-30K is frustrating me.
Still looking. I'll try a CF-74 version here in a minute.
The MK1 writes a section in Programs called Fujitsu Touch Panel (USB) as does this CF-52TS(GUNBRAM) Maybe I'll try this one....util2 files I mean...
Jeff ...just jabbering...Happy New Year! -
You actually read the instructions?
What's up with that?
:hi2:
You'll never get it to work now!
:hi2:
Next thing you'll tell us is that when you're lost, you ask for directions
:hi2: -
Never been lost. It's called the scenic route.
TB,
I have calwin working, taken from CF-52 file. Calibration works fine and when touch is selected in bios the only thing under hid in devices is Fujitsu Touch Panel (USB).
The calibrator in the CF-30Mk3 \util\tscreen is for the tablet. calTUwin or something. (states that it is for tablet)
I did run the ftsetup from the CF-52 but got a rundll32 error. So Fujitsu is not installed in program files. (maybe) but it does show up in device manager drivers.
EDIT
New Year finds the calibration for TS is not stickyalthough saved as directed. I'm guessing it's due to how the data is saved in caldata in registry. Then to get tablet to calibrate I had to re-load \util\tscreen\ftsetup for Vista.
So ignorant as usual but wishing you the best.UNEDIT
So you could try just getting a copy of calwin and adding it to the util folder. I put a desktop link up for it on my machine.
Happy New Year
Jeff
