CF-30 batteries (CF-VZSU46U) in CF-29:
Why: 8.55Ah, and they're (genuine ones) NEW new stock rather than old new stock.
So they don't fit out the box, but a quick chopping-off of a small plastic extrusion that they added to the case between CF-29 and CF-30 soon sorts that.
Booting up, mine's being seen by the battery info monitor, capacity showing up as 91,500 Wh, charge 920 Wh - but voltage only 50 mV with charge at 25 mW.
Will it ever charge in a CF-29? Have we tried this before? If not, anybody want a brand new CF-30 battery with a missing plastic ear? ;-)
Thanks,

Oh, and same story with the media bay battery - will a VZSU1430U fit a CF-29 relatively easily?

FWIW: Nope! Charges up fully, but the CF-29 sees it as having "0V" and blinks red/immediately shuts down.
Dismantling the CF-30 pack is a no-no either - the plastic is glued to the batteries and the PCB and then the edges of the plastic are ultrasonically welded, so removal entails destruction of the pack as far as I can see. -
Yes.. This is posted elswhere.... Things from the CF-30 do not work with the CF-27,28,29 series...
