Hi All my CF30KCP412M laptop has a built in Gobi wireless card. Bios's WWan is enabled. In Windows under device manager under modem; the Qualcom HS-USB device appears and dissappears intermittently. Verizon Manager shows the device as disconnected. Does anyone know why it would goes out and come back?
I opened the back of the laptop and can't physically locate the Gobi aircard immediately, is it hidden under some other component or device?

    thanks

I think this modem is installed in caddy and can be removed without opening of the back.
It seems there is not enough power. Try to remove the modem and clean it's plug (connector).

The modem is in a sled above the battery. Open the battery door, remove all power, remove the 2 screws in the sled cover and slide the sled out.

Thanks, I found it. I removed the gobi card and placed in another CF-30, it failed. I put the a good gobi air card in original CF30 and it worked. so the
card is bad. I called Panasonic and they insist I return the whole lap-
top for repair(under warranty), not just the bad gobi air card component. This forum is cool. you guys are on top of thing :D

Before you return the laptop to Panasonic, backup anything you want to keep. They may re-image the HDD, wiping out all your files. But, you knew that already. ;)
