I have a CF-30 where the back light is not working. I was wondering if I can use LED's and a Buck like onirakkis did with his CF-29. If so, I was not sure which logic inverter to use if I would need to at all.

Onirakkiss used the logic inverter to modify the brightness signal so that it operated correctly with his new backlight. Whether or not it would be needed is something you'll need to figure out yourself with a voltmeter.

Of course, you can always make it fixed brightness with a pot, or turn off the auto-brightness feature in Windows & live with the brightness control working backwards.
