Hi everyone I just got my first Toughbook and really like it however it came with a bogus windows 8 installation and I wanna install win7.
The current bios version is v3.00L20 and this only supports Vista.
I need v3.01L23, I realize this question has been asked here several times I did my homework but nobody actually posted a link to the download.
Some people say the actual file name is: "cf30k_mk3_bios_r-2009-0027-binary.zip" but I'm not sure, I did google search to no avail so I would really appreciate if someone has this bios.
it's a real disgrace tha Panasonic wont release it to the public
    Thank you very much

Win7 will install fine on any CF 30 mk3. Bios version should not matter.

Thank you all for a quick response, I know I can install win7 in fact I already did just that, the problem is it won't activate becouse it does't have a slic 2.1 only 2.0 which only support vista.
And as far as I understand the latest bios v3.01L23 is the one for Win7.
    Thanks again
And Shawn you're right, current version is v3.00L16 not 20 my bad

Not sure that a BIOS flash will change the slic

You could just buy a win7 key from ebay for a few dollars

Thanks Shawn for your reply, I didn't realize you could do that!
What if the key I buy is already used?
So you don't know if this bios update exist? I think it should as some of this very machines came out with win7 on them.
    Thanks alot

Search for windows 7 coa or Windows 7 key
A purchased coa will work. Sometimes you need to phone Microsoft to activate it.

You are close to discussing piracy of win7.

    ^This.

My CF-30 MK3 runs Win10 Pro x64 like a dream, and it originally came with Win7. I believe as long as you have the Vista+ BIOS version, you shouldn't have any problems. Even then, I'm doubting quite a bit that any major differences between the XP BIOS version and the Vista+ BIOS version are really going to stop you from running whichever OS you want. I'm sure someone here could provide more insight into the actual differences, but I'd be willing to bet that the Vista+ version just adds in more features and updated settings that are better optimized for Windows Vista and above, (which don't apply to XP).
