1st Post! I have a CF-30FCSQXAM Description: WinXP (Vista COA), Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 1.60GHz (Centrino), 13.3" XGA Touch, 80GB, 1GB, Intel 802.11a/b/g, TPM1.2, Bluetooth, Emissive Backlit keys, Smartcard, GPS, Dual Pass (Upper:GPS/Lower:WLAN), Fingerprint, Wireless Ready, No Drive.
Running Windows 7 Ultimate with Vista Drivers installed in order per Panasonic site.

No wireless adapter shows in device manager. Under Network adapters it shows Marvell Ethernet controller and Bluetooth Personal Area Network. In theory it should have a Intel 3945abg card. I have switched the wireless switch on the front to the right of handle and only the Bluetooth Personal Area Network and 4 lines listed under Bluetooth appear and disappear from Device Manager.

I tried removing all power and held on switch for 1 minute and no luck. Any suggestions or am I destined to take it apart and try another card? I read the Intel 4965agn is a upgrade that fits, $9 new on ebay. Any magic to keep my screwdrivers put away would be welcome.

Is it turned on in the BIOS?
Is the 3945abg the original card or did you put it in?
My cf30F came with a 4965agn originally. The cf30F may not recognize the 3945abg.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that "wireless ready" meant that Panasonic didn't actually fit a card?

BIOS V2.00L11 All items under Advanced are enabled except Power on by LAN which is denied. Wireless Switch enabled, there is no other mention of wifi or wlan in BIOS. I have added nothing inside the unit, just relying on wireless ready report from configurator.

Clicked view and Show Hidden Devices and 11 new lines show up under Network Devices.
    microsoft isatap adapter
    microsoft isatap adapter #2
    teredo tunneling pseudo-interface
    8 different WAN Miniport
All 11 say working properly, 2 of the WAN Miniports (IKEv2, SSTP) updated with no change in function.

If wireless card is broken/malfunctioning would that prevent it frm showing in Device Manager?
Thanks for your fast response Shawn.

The X in full model is for Wireless Ready Pocket. Q is Smartcard, fingerprint, GPS, BT, while a U in its place would be those 4 plus WLAN ready. Perhaps I do need to add card myself or just add a mini USB adapter from ebay for $10. I'd rather have internal. Anyone know how easy/difficult it is. I have pdf manual w/disassemble instructions.

The 3945 card is the standard card for the Mk1, Mk2 has the 4965 card. Your original configuration shows wifi so unless someone took it out it should be there. Go to bios and see if the wifi card is enabled. On the front of your unit next to the handle is a grey switch make sure it is on. Windows 7 should of automatically picked up the card and installed the generic driver.

Wireless ready is where you have WWAN antenna and internal parts, you just don't have the WWAN caddy installed.

It looks like it may be time to pull the back off. Just make sure you have a spare thermal pad ready just incase you damage yours when you pull the bottom off.

There should be a line in the BIOS to enable or disable WLAN(wifi) If it's not there, it's for one of 3 reasons.
    1 the card went bad.
    2 the card is missing
    3 It's a different card than original.

Try downloading the latest Proset from Intel. My cf30 would not recognize my 6250 until I installed the latest Proset drivers.

I downloaded Proset from Intel, would not allow the latest but one from 2011 installed. Still nothing showing in Device Manager. Front switch is on, only Wireless Switch shows in BIOS. Looks like time to order a card and break out the screwdrivers. Is card under keyboard or do go through the back?
    Thanks for your help!
