I have been looking at the difference between the models and have noticed that some have the 2300 processor and others have the 9300. I am slowly learing about the MK series and thankfully found out the model code to determine what is what as I know that as they moved up the processors changed.
I guess I am looking for any motherboard schematics or photos that might be out there comparing the two.
Also has anyone attempted to swap the processors within the line? I have not seen the processors but I am sure the pin arrangement changed as the processors changed, and even ram, most likely.
Thanks,
Eric

No need for schematics , CPU's are soldered in , no upgrades possible
MK-1 Core Duo L2400 790 passmark benchmark
MK-2 Core2 Duo L7500 894
MK-3 Core2 Duo SL9300 949
You will notice a small improvement as you move from a mk-1 through the mk-3
I own a mk-1 and mk-2 , there is no noticeable speed difference to me in real world usage ,although the processor is around 12% faster in the mk-2
The on-board intel shared video is 256mb on the mk-1 and 384mb on the mk-2
Don't have a mk-3 to check
The new cf-31 has several options ,with the best Intel Core i5 540M having a 2,461 passmark benchmark
That processor has 2 1/2 to 3 times more power than the average CF-30
Added for reference the benchmark for the most powerful CF-29 Intel Pentium M 1.60GHz used in the mk-4 and mk-5 score of 410
What programs and O/S are you needing to run -
I am just going to use Windows XP or Windows 7. It will be for a work/personal PC no gaming or anything, I have a home PC for that. I was just trying to narrow down the small performance difference, if any, between the models.
Thanks,
Eric
