What do you call the replacement plastic sticker-like things that you can put on a CF-30 (or any other ToughBook, I guess) that makes it look new again? And maybe a part # to order from Heartland?

I have NO IDEA what you're talking about? You mean the port covers? or the dogbone logo?

No, I mean the black sticky-back plastic film (?) that covers the bottom of the laptop, and is also on the doors to the media bay and SDHC/1394/network jack. My CF-30 has no dents, but the plastic skin is all beat up. I like my ToughBook to look new, even if it isn't. I've seen these sets on eBay before, but cannot remember what they are called.

They are called cover sheets and I think they are about 10 of them and will cost about $50.00 to replace them all BUT this is something that Heartland does not always carry...how I know is I just replaced all mine last year and it took me almost a year to get them all...back ordered

Interesting - can you take a picture of the 'cover sheets?'

edit: oh I know.. they're the black label material that has the white printing on them. It covers most of the bottom.

Yes, the thing the red arrow is pointing at. But I would also like to find them for the bottom and at least the media bay door.

Do you have a service manual for the 30. You have 9 on the sides and 2 on the bottom. You will need to save your model number sticker...just use a hair dryer to remove it.

OHHHHH!!!! Now I get it!! LOL!

Yeah, I've NEVER ordered these. 99% of the time the door/lid is damaged anyways and needs to be replaced. I would have just order the whole door.

Blair, yes I have the service manual. (Why didn't I think of that?)
Rob, thanks for the reply anyway.

If you plan on replacing them all then it would be a good time to repaint the base of it like I did. My 30 looks brand new now. The door stickers came off good but the bottom ones were harder...in the end I took off the bottom cover and heated it with a hair drier and pulled it off so gently.

I gathered up a set one time and they make a HTM50BM look new. Total fake....but they look good.

Remember to transfer the COA (gently with heat).....Model # etc.

    Jeff ...been there done that...

Like I said it took me almost a year to get all the covers...every other month when I would place an order I would include the part numbers just to see if I would end up with any...it was a pain in the a$$ but it looks great now. I just finished restoring my 19 MK2 the same way ;) .
