Anyone tried to record audio on a CF-30 may know that your options are limited to Microphone or CD Audio.

I use a program call Total Recorder. Under recording source your options are sound board or software. Select Software and your recording format...Like mp3 or wave.

The attached was recorded from a popular web site. With a CF-30 MK1

    Opps can't attach an mp3

I have a TC Electronic Konnekt 8 connected via the 1394 port at home. You can use any USB sound card too, you're not limited to just the ports on the laptop.

I needed a recording option of stereo mix as there were with the CF-50, CF-28 and the CF-29. Selecting software instead of sound board get around this.

I would like sound card pcmcia or usb that would give me an option for line in (stereo) instead of microphone which is mono. I just hate to have to carry more.

I record using firewire to a Presonus FirePod - 8 Channels simultaneously.
OR the Mackie 1640 - 16 Channels simultaneously.

I have 160 GB Hard drive installed that is 7200 RPM so I record straight to that.

M-audio fast track pro here (usb), works perfect
Use Audacity, free and very flexible.
