did you get a correct power supply for it ?
    i have the 12VDC/110VAC input supplies ... i absolutely recommend these hands-down .
do not use anything other than a 16VDC (output) supply ... the magic smoke will issue forth .

I had to double check, but yes, got a correct charger for it and it's working great.

Alright so, I am just now having my first problem: The Bluetooth is not working. I am going into the bluetooth manager, and it's telling me "Please plug in the Bluetooth device and click OK button"

I went into the device manager, and under BT, it's showing "Bluetooth RFCOMM" by Toshiba as on and functioning properly, but the taskbar icon won't let me actually activate it and connect devices to it. (Driver Date 03/05/2012, Driver Version 8.0.2505.0)

Also on ebay, the seller listed this cf-19 as having BT already installed. Here's the listing. If it also helps, my CF19's model number is CF-191DYC51M.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Go on to http://business.panasonic.com/support-computerstablets-downloads and download the full driver package and install it. The bluetooth should show up in device manager as Intel(R) wireless Bluetooth(R). So either the incorrect driver is installed or someone performed a repair in the past and installed the incorrect wireless card. Driver install is the easiest to check.

Once you install the driver package you may need to manually update the driver in device manager for both the bluetooth and wireless card. When it asks you driver location, the exe extracts the file to C: Drivers

Run the driver pack as an administrator

I just tried to search for and install the bluetooth driver, but it said that it's not for this system. I chose the other MK6 option from the dropdown on that website and that driver worked, but it was only the security patch and not the full driver package.

Or when you say full driver package, do you mean the 427MB exe file under the "Driver Bundles" tab?

Yes the 427mb one but the bluetooth stack driver should be the same one contained in the driver package.

Another thing to check is go to the bios (F2 on startup) and check the wireless configuration and make sure bluetooth is enabled.

So I just noticed that the filename for the download (1912-mk6-7x64.exe) is the same exact filename as what I have as a folder with many driver installers inside of it at C :Drivers.

I tried running the BT installer there, and it was working, but gave me the same error as when I tried to enable BT.

I'll try the BIOS setting, I didn't think about that.

Wow - I'm dumb. BT was disabled in the BIOS, and upon startup, it immediately starting installing on its own.

Thanks for the help! I do have something else I'd like to ask about that I noticed in the BIOS, but I have little time right now, I was between classes. I'll post my next question when I get out.

The next step after the bios check is to remove the bottom cover (upper left in picture) and check the part number on the wireless card. Sometimes previous owners do unofficial repairs to these things since genuine parts are expensive new. I would guess that they threw whatever wireless card in there that they had if the oem one failed.

    FYI

mk6 has the Bluetooth on the WIFI card and not a separate module.

So, everything works and BT connects to what I needed.

The other question I was going to ask, I actually already solved it. While I was searching for the BT option in the BIOS, I came up on something called "Optional Kit Configuration", but it was locked with a password. I googled it and found the solution here on NBR, so got an understanding of that now. Same with "Concealed Mode" - had no idea what that meant, but did some reading and now I know. That's actually pretty neat and might come in handy.

My only other question so far, is about the I/O port I have. The RSS for my motorola radio launched great and worked fine, but when I plugged my radio in to the TB, it wouldn't recognize it on any of the COM port settings I tried (1-4, which I already know 3 is my GPS). Is there a way to figure out which COM port the I/O serial port is set to, and how to tell if it's working or not?

Also, Shackwrrr, I don't know if you feel the same way, but I wanna say that my GPS seems to be a little inaccurate - it gives me different coords than what I pull up on Google Maps in each test I've tried. Do you seem to have the same problem, given that you also have a MK6?

Surprisingly my GPS is fairly accurate for what it is. It reads maybe 25-75ft behind while I am driving but sitting still it's close enough that when zoomed in I can see the building I am in. Now It does have it's days where it wants to show me on the other side of the county but once I get to a clearer signal it will work.

Also your Gobi cellular card will output NMEA data on com5, Make sure that your software isnt picking that up

Reviving this thread after a notable period of silence - hope that's ok!

So, the CF-19 has been performing flawlessly.. in fact, better than even my other laptops. It has stood strong and given me the agility and power I need without compromising in areas such as looks, design, or even life (battery life, durability, etc.)

I just recently had an accident on my motorcycle, though. I'm fine and the motorcycle is (mostly) fine too, save for cosmetic damage to parts that are literally impossible to find anywhere without being the cost of the CF-19 I bought.... but anyhow, the CF-19 was with me in my backpack and suffered a bit of damage in the fall - a cracked front case lid, and that's it. Otherwise, its not had any other issues that I can see or have noticed since the fall. I can easily purchase a new lid from Ebay and replace it, no problem.

My question is, during my search for a new lid.... I saw some CF-19's on Google images with what appears to be a Camera on the underside of the unit.....

However, on Panasonic's configurator, it certainly is an option, only I cant seem to find any literature or parts for it anywhere online. The worst part is... I wanna outfit my unit with one now and I can't seem to find one anywhere... Except for old listings on cameras that were pulled from MK3's or MK4's.

Any suggestions on where I can look to find / buy one, oh Toughbook gurus? I desperately NEED one now that I've seen it.

Of course, this need is kind of sort of more of a want.

    Thanks in advance, guys! :)

If I remember it is a very poor camera (800x600 I think) and wastes a whole ram slot. The camera is integrated into the board so retrofitting one isn't really possible without a complete teardown. M

Yep. It takes up one ram slot. So to put the camera in you need the camera, ram cover and camera specific motherboard.

Do you have an amateur radio license. I saw a HT1000 mentioned in your original post.

I only came across this thread today. I have a CF-19 and a CF-30. I use the CF-30 about 90% of the time. The main reason is the up, down, left, right on the keyboard of the CF-19 is not to my liking. It is also slower than my CF-30 but that will change by next week. I am getting a newer CF-19 with an i5 processor.

P.S. Sorry to about the wreck.

Sorry, no amateur radio license here. The HT1000's are used for work on-site.

Also, I've found the CF-19 keyboard to be just a tad bit small, as well as the arrow keys that you mentioned being skewed in placement, however I have grown used to it since it is now my primary laptop.

Do you have an amateur radio license? And if so, do you have experience with HT1000's? I need a bit of help if you are familiar with those radios, if you don't mind.

the 1Ks are a rugged radio ... do you use it on vhf or uhf ?
    (battery replacement is not cheap)
the '19 would be a good machine to load the programming software onto .
(as per the rules ... all threads must be TB related)

yeah , the keyboard is a bit small but quite workable .
shifting between keyboard styles is a PITA ... currently i am using 5 different styles .

Yes, I have a General amateur license. No I do not have experience with the HT1000. I have converted some commercial Motorola radios for ham use but always with help from another club member. I think I am looked upon as the resident dummy in my ham club. :D

I hate heights. No climbing for me. One guy in the club is in the business of climbing towers. Insured and all the good stuff. He took a video of one climb. It scared the poop out of me just watching the video.
