    Hi guys!

Thanks for a nice forum, already found a lot of valuable info. :)
I have a CF-30F3UCZN9, which appears to be mk2, right?
I'm trying to change BIOS serial no. as per instructions here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/475233-writing-bios-id.html
Found the BU30M2.exe tool from .ca website (ver. 1.68L43 as it says), but upon launch it pops up an error message "This program can be used only for Panasonic note PC (CF-30mk2)". But I do have an mk2! What did I do wrong and what can be done to achieve my goal? :)

    Thanks a lot in advance!

PS. I tried the BU30M1 tool as well with similar result.
Couldn't find the BU30M3 one to try it out though.

PPS. BIOS is not password protected, I can access it easily. No hdd lock either, obviously.

    Blair, please close this thread.

You cannot talk about this here! The only reason to EVER change a serial number is to hide something!!!

    Thanks

    Whoa, hold on a second!

Firstly, why did the first thread ever exist then?
Secondly, did you think of the following scenario:
there's a toughbook with some proprietary software "bound" to bios serial no. Its mobo gets fried and you swap HDD into other similar book, but can't use your soft due to BIOS S/N mismatch.

Whatever, thanks for the help, I guess.

I understand this. Especially with the Nissan software.

However, it's against the rules, which is why that thread is CLOSED.

Blair will do as he sees fit.

    Thanks

The reason the last one and this one is closed we are running very close to breaking the forum rules ( F.A.Q. )
