I have a CF-31 dual booting Win 7 and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. After a update over the last 45 days I have started having a problem with my Wi-Fi, where I it never seems to wake up with the machine and I see no choices for Wi-Fi access points under Ubuntu. Luckily, the Win 7 Pro x64 side of the dual boot works fine, or I would not be typing this. I am on the ground in Fl working the Storm and kind of need the Ubuntu side of the machine where there are some programs and files I need.
My connectivity is hit or miss, but I will try and check back in the morning, but I am going South from here...
Anyone heard of this problem with Ubuntu, it seems like a Driver Problem. Thanks!

welcome back! Azrial.
On windows, that problem is the power saver features. I turn power saving OFF in the device manager.
I think there is some similar settings in the control panel // networking on Linux..
I set it so when the computer is ON--the wifi is ON. OFF will be controlled by the physical switch.SHEEPMAN! likes this. -

Thanks guys! I will give those a try and report back as soon as I am able. I have been busy with my new lake house, marriage (!), and the finding of long lost family. It turns out that I have 8 brothers and 2 sisters!!

Thanks Guys, well that got me on, but still nothing is showing up under my list of possible Wi-Fi connections, I have to go into SETTINGS, then to NETWORK and then connect from there... BUT, I am on and will seek a more iligant solution down the road when I am not up to my knees in water and in fear of being blown away. (lol)

edit: added NOAA picture. Azrial is under the red part of Irma.
I however am 120 miles north of the little thing west of San Francisco, CA. Lightning all night MOSTLY offshore. :endeditLast edited: Sep 11, 2017 -
Things are getting better, but power is still a major problem. The power stations are submerged and flooded, so they will have to drain before normal service returns.
