Hi good people,
just to share with you: I did swap my CF-31 DVD burner for a Panasonic UJ240 blu-ray reader/writer.![]()
This was a direct replacement, just peel off the external plastic cage from the old player and put it in the new one (even the black sticker went off easy and was re-apllied). Just take your time with the strong glue on the sides of drive, pry the plastic carefully with the help of a little screwdriver.
Tested with several blu-rays, ArcSoft's TMT5 plays smooth on the i5 + 8GB RAM. The HDMI output on the 31 turns this mod very useful, despite the 1024x768 LCD's native resolution, as now I can connect the machine to monitors/TVs and watch some BR everywhere.
