    Hi all!!

I have aquired a couple CF-31W's and am planning on putting one in a dock in the RV to manage the Cameras, (Driving, back-up, security) Music, (to the stereo) and Driving/ Navigation. This is where I'm looking for help and information.

If you had the funding of the NSA (I don't, but can still dream!) and set up your laptop with a GPS, (I'm using the Lea6/ UBlox6 from Custom Toughbooks) what program would you use to Navigate with? I am partial to Garmin and like the 760 for the RV as it has route avoidance for height and weight, dirt roads, off roads, Etc (try driving in South Dakota! Some roads are Seasonal!!) but I would like to have one toy to do it all and the 13" screen is better than the 7" on the Garmin760.

Also, any suggestions or helpful comments on the other ideas would be helpful! I plan on retiring and traveling in my RV for a few years.

Even with an unlimited budget, I would use the same program I do now.
    Garmin Mobile PC.

i have driven in SD ... yeah , some roads are seasonal ...
i learned to drive in NW montana ... seasonal (a couple of passes) and/or slick-as-snot .

i have been traveling west to east across SD ... they were closing the gates behind a small convoy of us (7 civilian cars and a highway patrol car) .
nasty weather ... icy roads and drifting/blowing snow with a snow storm about 75 miles behind .

i would include a way to get a variety of multi-source weather information .
one cannot always depend on those fm/am short distance "weather broadcasters" , cell phone reception and other sources .
a darn good external cell antenna plus a card that turns a '31 into a 12 pound *smartphone* , would be a good addition .
i have traveled between minnesnowta and kalispell mt on the train ... with a '30 set up as a smartphone ... when my fellow passengers were having reception problems , i was in good shape .

    Good ideas CWB!

My uncle lives near Aberdeen and my GPS wanted me to 'Turn Left here' down a trail I would be hesitant to take my ATV down!

I have a 30K with the Gobi in it, not sure what it all has, built it up for my niece; turned out it 'Wasn't Cool'... LOL But a Cell booster and a High quality WiFi antenna/ receiver system on the RV is in the plans! Looking to be self sufficient for months at a time! ;-)
