CF-31 MC7355 GPS Ubuntu/Linux Support

I've installed kubuntu 20.04 (Ubuntu with the KDE window manager) on both my CF-31 Mk4 and my CF-30 and am very happy. The CF-30 GOBI 2000 WWAN is supported under Linux (you need to put the windows drivers in the correct place) and works a treat.

In my CF-310 I have the following card: Sierra Wireless MC7355 LTE/EVDO PCIe 4G Module. The WWAN works out of the box, which is fantastic. However, I've not been able to connect either gpsd or use gpscat to discover the GPS serial stream. I have a /dev/ttyS0, ttyS1 and ttyS4 showing, but if I connect to them at 9600 baud I don't get a stream of GPS data.

I suspect the serial port on the card needs some sort of configuration or driver for Ubuntu. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of whether I can get this working?

OEM GPS runs at 4800 baud. I believe the Cellular cards run at 4800 too for GPS. I do not have anything handy to verify but give it a try.

Thanks for the help. I think the issue is that on the GOBI 5000/MC7355 the serial ports would appear as USB ports with the correct driver but they are not identified by the standard Linux Kernel drivers. On Windows the serial port drivers come from the Sierra Wireless driver installation. So I suspect the kernel either needs a hand identifying the device as a serial port, or some kind of Sierra Wireless driver load is required. I don't doubt it is doable.
