I'm trying to install 2 @ 4GB memory modues in my new CF-31, and can't figure out how the black plastic divider comes out. I thought I had seen a thread on this, but can't find it. Any help would be appeciated; I don't want to damage anything. William

To get to the bottom slot, you need to take the ENTIRE botom cover off.

    Thanks

I was afraid of that, but many thanks for confirming, Rob. My CF-30 was ALOT easier to upgrade!

Its not that hard to take the bottom cab off, 11 small screws around the outside, then the 6 long screws in the recessed holes. then just a little pressure using your fingers inside the hdd and bat bays will pop right off. It will be a little hard to break at first due to the weather seal.

Panasonic is doing his more and more. I think the reason is that the smaller the the cover, the less likely water will be to get in.

The following I've confirmed are like this:

    CF-C1
    CF-19
    CF-31

I hear you.....I've stripped a few in my lifetime. Also broke the very tip of the screwdriver in the screw slot. It's all a learning experience!

So just to clarify, the CF-31 MK1 has two ram slots and will accommodated 2 dims of 4 GB each. (To do this I need to remove the entire bottom plate?)

    thanks - Dom

Huh... guys, I don't know if I did something wrong... but I'm sure I replaced the two modules in my 31 MK1 without removing the bottom cover
Just removed the two screws that hold the plastic spacer and pulled it straight up, slow and carefully. All went smooth, and I had no problem in assembling it back.
8GB korean made Samsung memory now

I just used this handy little thread to install more RAM in my cf-31.

As a token of gratitude, here's a naughty picture of the CF-31's insides.

WOW BIG PIC.....Now if you could only resize the pic (25%) would be great and it will keep the mods happy too :D .
