Issue: Optical drive bay does not work. I’ve tried two known working Toughbook optical drives and neither show any sign of receiving power nor are they detected in BIOS.

I couldnt find a schematic or advanced manual for the 31 series. Is the optical drive connector part of the motherboard or is it a replaceable component?

Thank you! Is this a part obtainable on the open market or would this be something I need to get from a service center?

Update. Thanks to Shawn, I received a replacement connector. Unfortunately, it did not help and there is still no drive detected.

I guess at this point, I'm looking to part this out. I'll part it down to the frame for folks on here that are interested.

Why not just grab a USB optical drive?

I already have a Mk4 that’s my daily use Toughbook. I have no need for another one that just sits on the shelf.
