I have a police agency customer with a CF-31 that doesn't seem to respond to touch anymore. I doubt it just "went out", so I was thinking maybe someone turned off the TSR that needs to be running in order for that part to work. I may be mistaken though. Does there need to be something running in the background or does it just work or not? Thanks!

Well not sure about the 31 but in other Toughbooks you need it turned on (enabled) in the bios, check that first. You also may need to reload the drivers for it. -
I'm not sure about the drivers for the CF-31, but on some earlier models the touchscreen and the touchpad "tapping" feature were linked. If you turned off tapping, the touchscreen did not work either.

1. Set to "auto" in the bios.
2. Check the cabling in the lid. The "new" connectors on TSPCB need a little help in the form of Kapton Tape or equivalent....At least they do in the CF-19.
3. You might also try pulling all power and cycling the switch a few times....then set to defaults...which will do #1 above. Mine shows Auto tablet.
CF-31 touchscreen not working - What needs to be running in the background?
