    Hi guys,

I bought a Panasonic toughbook from ebay, it's CF-31UBLEA1M came with 8G memory, [email protected] and Windows 7 Pro.

I updated it to Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit (Version 1803) in order to use the offline map downloaded from Microsoft Store. The OS installation was very smooth, but there's something wrong: the Maps (Version 5.1807.2291.0) can't show my location when I turned the WiFi off, it says "We can't seem to find you." (Yes, I DID turn on Location service from "Settings - Location")

Then I installed a software called GPS Viewer (Version 1.02.1100.00) from Panasonic to see if there's a hardware problem, it shows there was 8 satellites in use, but the strange thing is: the Longitude reading never changes wherever I am, no matter in my office or at home, it's always "W 117°". Does this cause maps unable to locate?

Any ideas to solve this issue? Thanks in advance!

PS: Sorry I haven't figured out how to upload pics, so I did my best to describe the situation as accurate as I can.

It seems you have OEM Panasonic GPS. While it works fine with COM port software, it doesn't have Location sensor driver for Win8/10. You have to use GPSDirect or similar software to "convert" NMEA data from COM port to "location-aware" applications.

I sort of recall having to do that on my CF 19 with Win 10.
Maps does not work directly until you add GPS Direct.
It all works great once it is setup.

Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate your kind help. :)

After the GPSDirect was installed, the Maps works great. I wonder:
    1. Where was it installed? Cause I can't find it in "System - Control Panel - Programs and Features".
    2. Now "GPS Viewer" doesn't function, it says "Connection Failed", is there any alternate software to check the Signal Strength?

I believe Garmin bought out Delorme and killed their software products. The latest version of Topo was DeLorme Topo North America 10.0. A seller on ebay apparently obtained a bunch of their stock and has been selling it off at a good price - $65 + $3.50 shipping or Make Offer. I bought a copy a few months ago to load on my CF-31/Win7. It was the real thing, loaded fine and the built-in CF-31's GPS connected without issues. It supposedly works on Win10 but I wouldn't know about that. I have no connection to the seller or the item, but it's worth looking at before the supply dries up.
