I use a CF-33 at my work and am trying to sort out a personal stylus replacement. It appears I need a "digitizer" pen version.
Link Toughbook CF-33
Per the specs "12" WUXGA 1200 nit multi touch + digitizer display"
Can I use any digitizer pen from any manufacture or is this proprietary and I'll need pens that are designed to work with the CF-33 specifically?
Are there any other options since the screen does respond to fingers as well? I ask because spending $50+ for each stylus isn't really an option I like since I'm in EMS and losing a stylus happens often.
example replacement (I think)

Digitizer pen will be required.
There are different kinds of digitizer pens and they are not all interchangeable. It gets difficult to figure out what type of pen it is.
If you know what type it is then another brand will work.
I used a different brand pen on my CF19 dual touch and my G1. Also found a Lenovo one for a CF C1.
I tried a couple on the dual touch G1 but nothing fit in the holder good enough.
I have never owned a CF 33 so I can't give any specifics for that model. -
Thank you for the info, guess this means I need to find special pens then. The holder isn't a problem for me as this will be my personal one and will keep it in my pocket. Mostly what I need are cheaper alternatives so I can have a few extras.
Do you know how I could figure out the "type" of digitizer stylus it currently uses? Does it have a model number on the stylus itself or do I need to focus on sorting out the specs of screen instead?

Does the CF-33 not have a tether to keep it from being lost?

I used to use just a plain old plastic pen on our old Toughbooks, but we've fully moved onto the CF-33 with this expensive Digitizer stylus now... so a cheap alternative for my personal use would be nice. -
It uses the older Wacom tech originally called Penabled and then Wacom Feel. It is the same pen as the CF-C2 and CF-H1 and CF-20 and CF-19 models with active digitizers. It was very common around the Tablet PC days and less so now. Not sure if a Galaxy Note phone stylus will work. They use the same technology but it has a higher degree of sensitivity. All the Active Stylus on modern computers use the N-Trig type of pen which won't work on a Panasonic. The sister website Tablet PC Review might be able to offer more assistance as well.

This is the information I was hoping to find so I could track down cheaper alternatives and this should help with that. I think I saw some cheaper pens for the CF-19 and 20, but they never listed CF-33 so it sounds like I can order one of those at least.

More then you wanted to know probably.
In the pdf it's called a ip55 stylus. Several hits on the gargler. (google)teknomedic likes this. -
More good info, thank you... from that link...
"...The new Toughbook 33, of course, has capacitive multi-touch, which means all the tapping, panning, pinching and zooming one's heart desires, just like on any modern smartphone or tablet..."
Does this mean I could also use a cheaper capacitive pen/stylus?

One more thing from the above....M$ set the standard, not Panasonic............it's in the report.
Any pen that works on a Wacom digitizer should work....
Just go to the pen store with the 33, and try all the pens.
(People tell me to "just" go to the store..... a 128 mile round trip is not in the "just" category.)UNCNDL1 and toughasnails like this. -
