Hello All,
I need some help with my CF-50. The onboard video card started acting up and finally the screen went black so I bought a working board from ebay. I tried to get at the motherboard with no luck. I took out the battery, HD , RAM, etc from the back and removed all the screws. Something is still holding the back from separating from the keyboard. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any pictures on the site that might help? Id hate to let this computer go, it is just perfect for travel.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Cabin 16
I just took a CF50 MK5 out the Toughbook pile...with the LCD removed...It took removing 14 screws on the bottom to separate.

My guess would be there's double sided sticky tape still holding the keyboard in place. Try a low heat hair dryer and see if you can remove the keyboard after that. I've never actually worked with a CF-50, so this is just a guess.

14! Any chance you could take a picture I've only got 10. Are there screws under the feet?
Thanks -
It's been a while since I disassembled a cf50. Here is a link to a fleabay pic that may help.

I have a service manual, but it's not on my laptop. It may take a while for me to find it. -
