I just scored a CF-50 for a friend ($211 after shipping), but it is missing the power adapter. He didn't need the full rugged 28, so this one will suit him fine.
I'm wondering if anybody happens to know if the power adapters are the same for other models, so that I might have an easier time scoring one?

TARGUS 90 WATT UNIVERSAL NOTEBOOK AC/DC POWER APM12US
He will use tip S-4
This is what I use and its great home and car, check EBay they sell for about $34.00 or less Just type "APM12US" in your search. -
I thought all toughbooks used the same AC adapter. I know its interchangable between 25-27-28-71.. I've never got my hands on any of the others though so I can't comment on them!

Well... I know that the CF-29 and CF-28 are different. You would think that they would make them all interchangeable. I guess there are other considerations.

Modly,
I forgot to mention this but there's a listing online which describes CF-AA1653 (Input: 1.2A-0.6A , Output: 15.6v / 5.0A) being compatible with CF-50.
My CF-AA1653 M2, with same output, can't plug into the power socket and I'm uncertain at this point whether the M2 designation has anything to do with it.
That said, the IBM adapter that was shipped with my CF-50 and does charge up is;
Model: AA21131 B
P/N : 02K6746
FRU P/N : 02K6753
Input : 100-240V ~ 1.5A-0.9A 50/60Hz
Output : 16v 4.5A
It'd be nice if we actually know the original adapter that was provided when first purchased. I'll need to look into the pdf manual and see if it was stated.
