Hi.. Have a CF 50 with the original 384mb ram in it. I want to upgrade the ram so I went to 2 memory system scanners, and have conflicting results.

1 scanner tells me there are 2 mem banks (1 x 128mb & 1 x 256mb), the other scanner says there is only one bank and the other is onboard memory.

Which is correct?. The 256mb chip is in the memory slot on the bottom of the notebook, where is the 128mb chip located, and is it removeable?

2nd question... If there is only 1 removable ram chip, and the greatest amount of ram the system will take is 1GB, is that 1GB including the non removeable 128mb?

    Thanks in advance

I don't know anything about the CF-50. My CF-29 Mk.II has one memory chip that is soldiered to the motherboard and one is removable. In my case, the fixed chip was 256 and I was able to replace the removable one with a 1 gig chip, for a total of 1256.

I was able to go on the Panasonic Config site and figure out the max amount and type of memory that my particular machine would take. You have to use your model number, which in my case was on the back of my 29.
