Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help

I purchased ten CF-50EAKUCKM model toughbooks that have internal wireless, a intel wifi card inserted into the mini pci slot. The hd was wiped clean so i installed xp, everything is functioning properly, i have found and installed all the drivers successfully but the $%#$% won't detect my wifi card. I have been screwing with the problem for two days now and what is really odd, i can't find no one online with a similar problem. There is nothing pertaining to the mini pci in the bios, nothing to enable/disable and i am reaching my wits end. i have the driver but windows does not detect the card, like it's not there, i have tried different cards that i know work and still nothing, i might think the laptop is faulty but the identical problem exists in all 10 machines, even though they are from different buyers, help PLEASE.

    thanks

I couldn't get it to work with my cards either when I tried. I just assumed the slot was screwed.

    Could be hardware locked though.

I've downloaded the DMI veiwer for the book and it find the slot, even says its in use. I have read about people saying that it should show up in the bios, the pci slot or something but nothing is showing up in mine?

Apparently the bios was designed to disable the wifi, i upgraded the bios and works perfectly now.

    thanks

I have the same problem as dwschool. You mention updating the BIOS. Can you point me in the right direction. My current version is v3.01L12 M28. I've tried a BIOS Flash util but it just reports that an update is available, and I can't seem to find where to get it from.
    TIA

Thanks for this. Worked a treat . Can't understand why the latest release of BIOS actually disabled and removed from BIOS the wireless capability but Mine is not to reason why. Cheers again.

Good question. Might have been a corporate thing...
