    Do you have a manual? They are easy to very find on the Internet.

    From my CF-30 manual it shows the following;

    Blinking Orange Light causes;

    The battery cannot be charged temporarily due to the following reasons:
    • Its internal temperature is out of the acceptable range.
    • The power supply is not enough because software applications or peripheral
    devices are consuming a large amount of power.

    The warning lights are the same on all Toughbooks to my knowledge... All are either green, orange or red and either on, off or blinking. They all have different meanings.

    You may also try verifying that the charger you have is the correct one for the laptop. You may also try removing the battery, boot to OS with AC Adapter only, shut down, remove power, let sit with battery out.... Then install battery, let charge, boot as usual.

    One thing... I have received Toughbooks and they were still hot from the UPS truck storage... I had to let them cool before charging properly.
    Good luck.
