    Hey,

I haven't been in for a while, haven't had any Toughbook problems. Thats a good thing.

One of our dispatchers stepped on her CF-51 that we use as our backup dispatch computer in case of a disaster. The screen got wrecked. Last week I bought a screen on eBay- here's the link

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120477770832&_trksid=p2759.l1259

I put it in and 25% of the screen on the left is dead. But not just there, it squishes the screen.

Will a BIOS update maybe help,or should I send this back?

Have you gone into Display Properties? (Though this looks like a hardware issue) You may want to check the Service manual for any dip switches? (I've never worked on CF-51s)

Yeah, when in windows, the display properties don't do much. The whole right side is still blank, and the mouse disappears when it gets to that edge.

I'll try to track down a CF-51 service manual

Hi! I've seen here that you have an incompatible screen. May I know if it is the same model the one that was broken coz some model like on CF-72MK1 screen is not swappable to cf-72MK3 or MK4 correct me if I am wrong.

    Here's what I discovered.

    The OEM screen us UXGA
    This replacement is XGA

    Would that be why?

Try to look to its exact model no. from the broken one. Like LTDXXXX or LPXXXXX and etc. something like that. Maybe you can return to the seller and ask for an exact one.
