That's where I learned about the 100 post rule.

Bill,
Blair means start a for sale thread at the other Toughbook board ..Toughbooktalk. -
Ok this can NOT be an up grade. But when your machine does NOT function at all. Anything will work. I had a handfull of these processors on hand and tried one. System boots to bios.
Intel Pentium M 745 1.80GHz 400MHz FSB 2MB L2 Cache Socket 478 Mobile Processor Mfr P/N SL7EN

I'll have to find where I've posted the #'s for the machine and post them later. -
Oh! Uh ok?
-
Hey, Whatever it takes to get it running..Bravo...
-
Well they seem to use this place for sales? http://forum.notebookreview.com/forums/nbr-marketplace.18/ So no worries. Almost 100 posts ect as it is.
-
Uh how did i get rep points and what are rep points?
-
I gave the points to you....
When you get 25 points they the admins give you a free addiction to Toughbooks....
No one has ever made it past 10 points before they are fully addicted anyway
The points are just attaboys for really good or helpful posts...
.
Here is where Blair means to post a for sale thread with any oddball stuff you have.

Oh hey.
Just caught on about TBT forum. Ok can do that I guess. Dang it bites getting old.
-
I did before here. http://www.toughbooktalk.com/viewforum.php?f=23

Any 16v IBM/Thinkpad power supply will work with a Toughbook...They will go....
Make a full list of what you have.. -
Here's the numbers from my CF-51. Copied from another posting. it seems that they are 2 different numbers. CF51MK225H06136 is the number on the sticker under the ramm. CF-51ZFYZCZM is the one on metal plate. Any ideas there?
-
Now I'm stripping one of these down. http://www.notebookreview.com/notebookreview/dell-latitude-d810-review-pics-specs/
Might try that processor too. -
CF-51ZFYZCZM is the model number
The LCD in that Dell will probably work in a CF52 with the ATI graphics. -
Ok so that might be next on my list of TB's to collect. It sure would NOT be a TS tho.
-
Bummer. Search comes up with that being ram.
-
Ok. Booted it to Bios. This is what it reads. CF-51JF4ECBM Which translates to Pent M 760 15 inch uxga 80 gb hdd 1 gb ram and it's a MK2
So guess it wasn't a duo after all. Which ought to explain why the spare M cpu's work. -
I just ordered 2 cf 51's from ebay one has the 1.6ghz cpu the other 2.0. My question is how do I gain access to the cpu to change it/upgrade it.

Here is another thread to check out. It's not very hard to do the upgrade. Should be some pictures on one of these thread/pages. www.toughbooktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=749
-
Thanks that was a big help. Going to upgrade both I just bought.
-
So the T2500 cpu can be up graded to core 2 duo?

And I plan on doing just that with my soon to arrive CF-51, she'll also get more storage, more RAM, and a fresh Linux distro installed "My pappy said son you're going drive me to drinking if you don't stop driving that Hot Rod ToughBook" SpazzBox her nickname.

I think I upgraded 8 with the T7200 2.0 mhz and 1 with the T7600 but I found the fan was running all the time so I stuck with the T7200.
-
I agree with you from reading the thread, a T 7200 makes sense and gives the impression of speed and stability.

I built 3 of them for my kids and 2 for my in laws and they worked great until I upgraded them to a CF-52 last Christmas.
-
