Dual Core CF-51 running 7 locks-up when playing youtube or any embedded video on yahoo or any site for sports or politics.
It may just lock.
It may play that rangergang sound forever.
It may come back and start playing again only to lock-up again.
Rarely I can play through many vids without a problem.
Sometimes even when NOT watching a video, it will lock-up and I'll get a notice that the video driver stopped and has been restarted.
I think I've tried whatever 7 installs, CF-51 XP drivers and maybe CF52 7 drivers.
If there's a better driver I should be using, please provide a link.
Please supply a link for what you're using.
I think I posted a question about this but can't find it in the forum. It maybe buried within someone else's thread.
Thank you for any help.

Not sure if this is going to get you to the download site or not but... http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...ct=Mobile+IntelĀ®+945GM+Express+Chipset+Family
If not try google search using this w7 intel 945 video driver windows 7

I downloaded the
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows 7 from Intel's site. I think I may have tried this one before.
I went to the first modded site. The Win7 driver has been removed.
I downloaded the 9xxSSF Alpha 1 (Windows 7 x86) driver from the second modded driver site link.
I wonder it I should try the Sherry 1.3.2 Beta (Windows Vista/7 x86) drivers from that same site.
I suppose the process is I simply try one and wait to see if an embedded video fails as usual and then try the next driver and then download another.
Thank you -
Those two sites were connected, mainly the same people, they started that group on a Google groups and the discussion can still be seen but like the first one the link is dead. They have different one because some work best on mobile and some work best on desktop chip that has just a little more kick to it. There are several different modders to that adds to what can be found. They also have 64 bit only drivers also. This time home I upgraded my youngest two boys from there CF-73 Mk3 and CF-50 Mk4 to CF-74 Mk3's and to see what ran best I loaded one with 64 bit windows 7 and the other with 32 bit windows 7 and tried out a couple of there drivers. After several hours of gaming I have seen no problems with them at all.

BTW. this doesn't just happen when viewing videos.
When using Firefox with ONLY one tab open on say a newspaper's web site that allows me to scroll down or across three screens worth of print on this one html page, it locks-up as soon as I try to scroll. <CTRL><alt><dlt> does nothing. If I wait it may come back with a bubble notice that the video or graphics driver crashed and was restarted OR I have to unplug it and pull the battery to break the lock-up, replace the battery and plug it back in to reboot. -
Do you have a spare caddy with windows or linux live dvd to see if it just hardware or software related.
-
I dual boot 7 and Ubuntu Studio.
-
Is it doing it in ubuntu?
-
No, it doesn't occur in Ubuntu.

Ok, It should be strictly windows software then. Have you run a registery cleaner lately? If not I would try that then try a driver uninstall, reboot then re-install. Also after you reboot try the generic windows 7 driver it will install to see how that works. I have had some issues with windows 7 and 945 intel video before. I just installed the sherry 1.3.2 driver on a Lifebook B6220 Core solo, 2gb ram, 950 chipset. It played portal with out a hitch, also was fine on playing video. It did have a small screen flicker problem every few minutes before that.

I have been experiencing various lockups with Firefox lately on several different machines. One is my desktop PC.
Since they have gone upgrade happy, the Firefox is getting buggy and bloated. I am looking for a new browser. -
I haven't had any real problems with mine and I use firefox on several machines. Portable version and full version. I do, do a lot of tweaking of my software though. You can go into your setting and change everything that is in firefox. you just type about:config into the address bar and start going through all of the hidden settings.
