Trying to do some measurements including fan speed on a CF-51 MK3 but
speedfan doesn't seem to report any fan speeds. Have users found the best
    fan utility for toughbooks?

Anyone know of a utility for measuring internal temps, especially the Northbridge?

Just started playing with Mint 18 32 bit (also 64 bit) They brag about "thermaid".

I know the CF-31's seem to run as cool as with W7.

    Standard Linux command is acpi

    j@Juliet:~$ acpi
    Battery 0: Discharging, 79%, 01:15:21 remaining
    j@Juliet:~$ man acpi
    j@Juliet:~$ sudo acpi -t
    [sudo] password for j:
    Thermal 0: ok, 53.8 degrees C
    Thermal 1: ok, 53.8 degrees C
    j@Juliet:~$

    FYI (This from Makulu Linux)

    Thanks!

Still looking for suggestions on both.
I've been reading and many suggest Everest, there is a free version that
I'm going to try. The old free version of Everest does not have the temperature feature enabled
the updated version is called AIDA64 and I'm running the 30 day free trial on a CF-51 MK3. I see CPU, Motherboard, and disk drive temps with disk drive not reported due to it being the trial. There is no chipset or GPU temp reported.
The fan speed is not reported.
On a much newer Dell system I have many more temps reported and fan speed.

    On the motherboard!

Sorry, that was too easy to pass up.
    A service manual may help

    Thermistors are used as sensors.
    Part number....DBT10KC1513P
They are CF1 and CF2. They will be marked on the motherboard.
