Looks like I got my pants pulled down!
Thought I would get something to play with so bid on a CF-52 with a vague description and badly focused picture. Can you tell what the outcome was yet?
Anyway, From the pic I could see that the Centrino sticker had a purple patch on it and after looking at numerous pic of CF-52's statisfied myself that it would at least be a MK2 which must be better than a MK1 right!
When it finally arrived I removed it from the pacakaging only to find some sort of alloy cover making a bid for freedom out of the HD slot! It was quickly evident that it had been taken apart by an Ape and was missing nearly every screw holding anything together. The keyboard had been bent presumably to remove it. Basically it has either been used to repair another or perhaps even put together using various bits from different models.
I googled the Bios chip p/n and it was from a MK1 which was a bit odd as the sticker implied it was a MK2. Obviously if I can prove its likely to be a Bitsa then I might be able to make a stronger case for its return. There is basically nothing left to salvage as anything useful has been removed and whats left is broken or damaged. So does the pic of the sticker prove that at least the top cover was from a MK2. I am 100% certain the MB is a MK1 but I cannot confirm or deny how I found that out!
The pic is not the one I have but the sticker is identical.
Cheers!

Well it looks like one of the one's that I have which is a MK2 but not sure if the MK1 had a Centrino vPro in it ?

Thanks Blair!
Thought it might be better to include the actual pic of the sticker and the MB ID. Clearly states MK1 on the MB and that is consistant with the Bios chip which is from a CF-52CCABJXX or something according to Google. Unsurprisingly despite some Led activity it doesent display so cannot check the Bios to see what it is and the ID stickers have been removed from the bottom which is a bit suspicious.
Oh the alloy plate was the cover for the keyboard cables which is secured with 4 screws underneath the keyboard which looks like it is attached with tape on the 52!
Anyway one pic of the sticker and one of the MB. Guess its a weekend spent on analysing every 52 I can find with a sticker.Attached Files:

I think I didn't see the 2 on the sticker only the purple! So its possible it a MK1 after all!
Also having Googled the MB p/n it looks like it is a CF-52CCABJAG. -

Sorry it looked like a vPro sticker but with the new pic I think it is a MK1

Blair its entirely my fault. I could only see the colour of the sticker so made the wrong assumption!
Doesen't excuse the seller being dishonest enough to try and sell a bunch of junk as being useful! -
It was the same deal for me with a real crappy cell phone photo an the ad. I know better, but I got that "Have to have it" mindset.
