I have services hundreds of toughbooks in the past, and other laptops too.

I have swapped screens numerous times... without issue.

I currently own a base model cf-52 with the wxga screen and integrated intel graphics. 1280x800 I think.

I located a good deal on a screenless top of the line cf-52, with the ati x2300 512mb dedicated video card, which normally sports a 1920x1200 lcd. I assumed that I could, as I had done in the past with a cf-51, swap the screens and all would be well.

However, it is not, i get a milky faded screen when i hoo my low res lcd up to this new motherboard. I have confirmed its video card works with an external video card... and I have double checked my own lcd to find it still in working condition.

Has anyone ever seen this as a normal issue when using the wrong resoloution panel on a laptop?

Also does any one know if the two different lcds use different cables?
