OK, so I have two CF-52 (GCMBXAM) and I have Windows 7 on them both. All drivers are installed and work properly. When I cold boot the computer, or simply to a restart, there is *no sound* when the computer boots. Applications can use the sound driver and the sound device shows in device manager, and even the sound icon in the taskbar shows that there is sound being output to the speakers, but nothing comes out. I can plug headphones in and they will work fine, but when I unplug them, I get no sound out of the speakers.
Get this. If I put the computer to sleep (suspend) and then turn it back on, sound works fine until I restart the computer, then I have to do it all over again. What the heck is going on?
Already done:
- Use any over version of windows, sound works fine
- reinstalled different sound drivers from panasonic / manufacturer
- put windows 7 on my CF-51s, no problem there
any ideas?

I have the exact same issue. Just installed Windows 7 tonight and no sound. Works with headphones and does work if a go into standby and then back out. But I loose it again after a restart.
Using the latest/greatest Panny drivers for Win7, not sure what the problem might be.
Have you made any progress? -
Fixed. lol.
ok THAT did not take me long...
Go to: Windows® 7 Support and Upgrade Information | TOUGHBOOK | Panasonic
and download: "Panasonic Common Components Application" and "Hotkey Appendix Application"
(and any other drivers you don't have / need / etc).
Both of the above mentioned ones after being downloaded and executed will dump setup files to:
C:\util2\pcommon
C:\util2\hkeyapp
Run the setup.exe in pcommon first as it doesn't require a restart, then run the setup.exe in hkeyapp...then restart...annnnnnnnd: fixed.
NOTE: The link I provide above has a bunch of good information for CF-74 and CF-52 users upgrading to Windows 7. The site is geared towards users who have Vista Business and are upgraded but that doesn't change the fact that Windows 7 drivers are available for the taking.reparent likes this.
