I had a previous CF-52 that was mostly destroyed (long story). I have found a replacement that has almost everything my old unit had except for the WWAN card.

If possible I would like to use the Sierra Wireless MC-5725 module from my previous unit in the new unit - Panasonic itself is no help and says they only support the new Gobi module on my unit and if I have to I will buy one but I don't like being out of commission with my laptop while I have to send it off.

One thing that is strange is the BIOS on the new CF-52 doesn't even have a place to enable/disable WWAN.

Does anyone know how to get the BIOS itself to give that option?
Can the MC-5725 be used in the new CF-52

Hope someone can help - thanks

Usually the option to enable/disable will NOT show up until the unit is installed. Try to install it in your new 52 and then go to the BIOS to enable. It should work.

This is true for most Toughbook things (including the touchscreen on the CF-29 & CF-30)

Yes, I know. I just USUALLY avoid saying ALWAYS as I find there is not much out there that is absolute.
