this is going to take some time to lay up , thank you for your patience .
first some history and background ...
i was talking with shawn , i wanted a '52 and he had a '52 and touch screen kit kicking around ... sooo ...
we did some haggling and soon , i had two additions to my "hell list" .

the/a touch screen kit can be found here :
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/15-4-Inch-F...538?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f2f259412
the company has many touch screen kits to offer .

a representative video demonstrating the *assembly* is here :

the blurb about "easy and fun ... no soldering required" ... don't you believe it !
yeah , it may be "easy and fun" if you want a bunch a wires and junk hanging off of your laptop but it sure does nothing for portability .
i suppose it could be considered a theft deterrent .

i will not go into laptop and screen disassembly/reassembly and other fine points ... this will be left up to the individual to figure out .
a few *must haves* are :
    tape
    soldering pencil w/ *real* solder
    flush side cutter
sundry sizes of heat shrink tubing
a few pill bottles and/or magnets to hold the screws .
an old mouse/keyboard (etc) to rob a skinny usb cable off of
    hand tools as needed
i also recommend having on hand a notepad , pencil and a large bottle of aspirin .

    notice/disclaimer :
what and how you perform this installation is your responsibility .
i make no claims as to the results you will wind up with .
this project is not for the novice or uninitiated .

once you have the laptop scattered all over the top of your bench you can begin the installation .
again , i will show/comment about only the high points .

    to begin ...
this is the basic interface that comes with the kit .
there are a couple of modifications to make .

in this step , the four conductor cable is cut to an appropriate length .
the actual length will be determined by exactly where the interface board is placed on the back of the LCD assembly .
one does not need to remove the white connector from the board and cable if they want an easily "removable" LCD .
jump ahead to get an idea of what to do :

in this step , you create a dust seal :

placement of touch screen on LCD cushion.
i cannot stress enough to make sure that the backside is absolutely clean :
