I have the option to buy some overstocked CF-52's and CF-53's.

Both have the i5 cpus and 4gb ram with 320 and 500gb HD;s so they are
    both great on specs.

I can't find the info I need from these config numbers any help would be great.

    CF-5 3AAC34ZG
    i5-2520M 2.5ghz
    4gb
    320gb HDD

    CF-5 2PFN820G
    i5-M520 2.4ghz
    4gb
    500gb HDD

What would you guys choose if you had a choice between the 52 and 53? I like the wide screen on the 52 but
the 53 has USB3 which also comes in handy.

Not sure what you're paying for the units, but I can guarantee you 1 thing: I can beat the price by $50 for what I have!

    Let me know.

    Thanks!

both seem to be made for the .DE market, so they most likely have german layout KBs and Win7 in german.

If better portability is not an issue (cf-53), I would choose the CF-52, as it has SandyBridge cpu (1.5~2x faster gpu), double the max ram (16gb ddr1333), quicksync a/v.

you can put an Expresscard USB 3.0 adapter on the 52 if you need it.
but it all depends on what you'll need it for.

Doesn't the "34" and the "82" in the model numbers mean they both have restricted bios's?
I have two like that and wouldn't buy another...

    shouldn't it be:
    CF-5 3AAC34ZG
    i5-2520M 2.5ghz
    4gb
    320gb HDD

    CF-5 2PFN820G
    i5-M520 2.4ghz
    4gb
    500gb HDD

    ?

I have a CF-53A MK1 and 53 MK4...both i5 and I can tell you the 14.0" HD LCD is amazing. I bought the CF-52MK4 first thinking it would be faster but both run the same...the 53 is my daily laptop

CF-52 screen is only 285 nits.

The CF-53 NON-touch is 400 nits and the TOUCH model is 800 nits (MUCH brighter than the CF-52)

    1) The 52's I have have DEDICATED video cards and HIGH DEF (1920x1200) screens
    2) They NEVER put any high def screens or video cards in ANY CF-53's
    3) CF-52's aren't available NEW with touchscreens any more. They did away with them.

    Thanks!

I think he meant FullHD screens (1080p, 1200p).

    That is correct!

you do realize that a crappy $299 toshiba laptop from best buy TECHNICALLY has and "HD screen"... I'm sorry, but 720 just ISN'T "HD"... 1080 or MORE is HD in my book!!

    720 = marginal at best...

And yes, that is EXACTLY what I meant Gear6 :)
