I installed the 2nd battery that fits in the multi media drive but it doesn't seem to increase total battery time. The green media port light is lit when it's installed but it doesn't turn orange to show charging or red to show dead always green. The battery is good as I can put it back in my CF-73 and it will run for an hour. Anyone have any experience or knowledge - Google didn't. Thanks.

Maybe I heard wrong, but I think someone said that when you shut down and restart it picks up from the second battery instead of a smooth transition. I don't havve a cf-52 YET! but pipe in you guys that do and correct me if I'm wrong........

I think the media bay battery for cf-73 is not compatible to CF-52 since the CF-52 has dual core machine while the CF-73 has only one and the microchip on the battery is not program to dual core. Correct me if I'm wrong but it is the same as having a battery from Cf-30, installed on the cf-29 and it doesn't work but it works on cf-51 dual core.

Take out the main battery to isolate the media bay battery to check
Having both battery's can be confusing when you are trying to troubleshoot

I tried every different configuration today but it comes down to: when just the MP battery is installed there is no power to the computer. Strange how the 52 recognizes it but won't use it for what it is. I haven't seen any other battery of this style that is a different part number than what I have. Wish there was another use for the MP slot (2nd hdd?) than a useless optical drive, haven't used one in years.

I am using a CF-73 media bay battery in a CF-74 which is a dual core and it works fine.

If you press Fn+F9 you will see either 1 or 2 battery icons, if you only see one then your unit will not support a 2nd battery.
