Does anyone know when the CF-52's successor will be available (approx.) or if there will be a hardware refresh soon?

    Thank you

I'll look into it tomorrow at work. They did 3 Marks with the 51 series so would think we would be looking at a refresh (new mark) before a successor.

Will let you know if I find out anything. Got to hold a CF-U1 last week -- has a ton of features but way too small for my liking.

Edit: It seems that the website now features the CF52 with Intel GMA 4500MHD and P8XXX processor. I must have missed something yesterday.. ???

The next Mark verision of the CF-52 just started shipping in August. The high end model will be a sku starting with CF-52 E/F and standard model (smaller processor) would start with CF-52H/J. Generally the products have a three year life with one update per year. CF-52 launched in 07 so next product could be out in Summer of 2010.

    Hope this helps

The more expensive one has a new ATI HD3650 . I'm thinking of selling my CF-52 plus my MSI WIND and buying that one. I want to be able to play Fallout 3 on med. at least when it comes out.

Angle.... Generally we like to welcome new members around here but your posts look suspiciously like spam to me... Please refrain from promoting where you work and remove the links from your siggy or you will draw a ban. I don't like doing that... if you want to contribute... Then please do so... But not by referring people to your employer. We like to do things ourselves around here.

    Thanks,

    Rick

One of the main purposes of this forum is to modify things ourselves. Stating in your other post, "Go here... They can help you with your hole!" is hardly useful or relevant. I don't mean to beat a dead horse... But let's call a spade a spade here...

And again... Please take the links to your employer off your siggy or you will draw a ban.... Strike TWO!

The replacement for the cf-52 full size 15.4 inch widescreen business class laptop . will probably be a cf-53 ,if panasonics numbering system continues the way it's been for years

rxcrider ,is correct , the cf-74 is an older model, and is a semi-rugged 13.3 inch screen model

You have to remember that you are posting on a technical forum angle45

Even if you are associated with a company that sells toughbooks , It takes years to start to understand them

There is lots of information available here, from our contributing members
Thats a + for career advancement in your company, if you take advantage of it
