I work for a small city and had a larger city donate some Cf-53 (Mk2?) machines. Beleive it or not, this is a really nice upgrade to our current CF-30's. I'm in the process of upgrading ram and installing SSD in all machines. The are surprisingly snappy. I'm actually testing Win10 enterprise and its also going fairly well.

    My question...

All of the patrol cars here have a Sierra Wireless modem 4gsetup in them and the laptops connect to the modems via Ethernet. Works like a champ.

I have one commander that needs one of the machines to have a mobile Verizon broadband card installed. I think the card is a MC7750? Are there other cards that have proven to work? I see prices ranging from $30 to $300. Are there generic cards? what are my options for an INTERNAL card? I know I can get a MiFi or a USB dongle. But MiFis get lost and USB's get snapped off.

    I'd really appreciate any help!

    Thanks

If you want the easiest/best path,
Get the MC7750 from a Toughbook. It will cost about $70. But it will plug and play work. Other cards are hit and miss and you need to fiddle with them.

I'm looking to not fiddle with them a bunch. I appreciate the info. Can you point me in the direction of where to purchase one?

What antenna do we use for GPS on a MC7750 in a CF 53?
