    So who's got a CF-53 MK1 (i5) with W7 64Bit 8GB memory. Just wondering how it runs compared to W7 32Bit 4GB memory.

    Kinda hope I can get the W7 64bit restore disk from Heartlands...don't really want to install all 48 drivers :(

    I have the setup you mention and run a Windows 7 32 virtual machine inside it with no problem.

    Well that was a fast week :rolleyes: Came in today and is it ever fast...just finished installing 8GB memory, Intel 320 series SSD and W7 64-bit. This thing boots into windows in 17 seconds flat :thumbsup:

    Now you have enough ram to set up a ram disk for a programs. That is why I like some of the small linux OS's. Some of them have a run in ram option where where complete OS and programs run in ram, not your hard drive.

    here are some Live CD/USB Linux versions:
    * Knoppix Debian based, downloadable from here. - toram option loads all in RAM
    * SystemRescueCD Live OS, Recovery/Diagnostic Tools (including Windows) - docache option loads all in RAM
    * Slax Slackware based, small footprint (iso has 200MB), very useful for systems with low amount of RAM. - toram option
    * And of course standard Live CDs from Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS, OpenSUSE, Mint,
    ~All support loading the entire OS in RAM, freeing the CDROM drive (if using the ISO CD version), and if using the USB version, you can create persistent storage, in
    order to retain personal settings/configuration/user files between reboots.
    All of this without using the main HDD.

    For Windows, there is a RAM disk driver/app, ImDisk Virtual Disk, FREE, with which you can create virtual RAM drives, and has support for using memory beyond 4GB on 32-bit Windows.
