Good day,
I have a strange issue and I am not sure where to go to get answers so I thought of the great minds on NR.com.
I have several CF-53A's that are having this issue.
Usually our Toughbooks are connected to a docking station until it's time for data acquisition or testing and then they are pulled off of the docking stations and when this will occur if it's going to since it seems to be relatively intermittent.
Once removed from the docking station the laptop screen will go blank but clearly powered on. It will never make it back to the state where the laptop's display is the primary.
All drivers are updated as are Windows updates.
Any thoughts or suggestions to try?
Thanks in advance!

Are you removing it from the docking station with the power on or are you powering down prior to?
-
Normally the engineers just remove it with the power on.
Thanks!

Steve, all Toughbooks need to be powered down before removal from a deck or vehicle dock. Same when putting them back into the docks. Hope that helps.

When I get home I will see what happens when I take mine off the dock. What is the model number of your dock.

My dock is a CF-VEB531 and I can take it off the dock and nothing happens. Everything is working fine and can put it back on and the same.

I guess it could also be our Windows Image... -

I was going by what is in the manual:
"For CF-53 Series: CF-VEB531-Hot or warm docking/undocking is not possible with the port replicator."
That is from a reference manual for a CF-53MK1. -

Morgan, with my 52 if I take it off the dock and put it back on I must restart it because I lose the USB ports on the back of the dock. I figured it would be the same with the 53 until I tried it yesterday.

I was posting what was in the Operators manual, nothing more, nothing less.
Strange that Panasonic says that they are not to be hot docked/undocked, but yet the CF-53s do it no problem.
