I would like to install a microphone in my CF-53J. I don't need a web cam, but I would be happy to install one at a decent price, just never see them for sale. I really only need the mic. Any ideas on how to do that?

    Is it a 31 or a 53? I see 31 and in the title it’s 53. Sorry I’m a bit agitated at the moment

My bad. It is a CF-53. I have corrected my post. My CF-31 already has a web cam/microphone in it. Thanks.

Take a glance at some of the stuff on adafruit. I peeked at it the other evening and became somewhat distracted for a couple hours.

    You have been warned. :)

Is your CF-31 camera and mike in the lid? How about opening the lids on both and then sitting there staring at the components for a bit. Be advised there is 12V (maybe 5V) open voltage in the lid when the computer is off. Please pull the batteries first and cycle the switches to drain residual power.

    G'luck.

The CF 53 has the mic built into the webcam.
    It was an option.

    Search for CF 53 webcam.
    I found one for $199.00

I have one on my CF-31 and it is terrible. I was hoping if I have to buy one to at least get some quality this time.

If yours is bad check these 5 threads out below. Now this is for the CF-31 but I would send the seller and see if it might fit a 53 or have one for it.

The quality of video in the Q1 is good. It all depends on what camera they used.
I do not own a CF 53 anymore. My CF 53 did not have the camera to test.
