I have a new CF-54 Mk3, and off course Windows 10 wants to upgrade from 1703 to 1803, guess what, it get stuck at 86 %.
Hate this, i know i will spent hours troubleshooting !

Got the same with my CF-20, at the end i did a new install from scratch from a ISO.

Reboot and repeat. Also current version is 1903. Works wonderful.

I use the 54 for music related software and i cant use 1903 because there is still a bug causing high DPC latency (very bad for real time audio)

Only if you use the insider version, and i dont want to use a beta for mission critic things.
I tried the latest official version on another laptop i have, and still have spikes.
Anyway, it only took 2 hours to troubleshoot and upgrade, i guess i got lucky.
I found the culprit, the Panasonic image disables some services (they are on manual instead of automatic)

I also can confirm that the onboard drive has to be Sata (B + M connector ) even as the connector on the mobo is M only on the Mk3

No, it is the latest mk with the i5 7300u, but only Sata !
Tried it with the Samsung 970 EVO, had to return it and buy a 860 EVO instead.
This is stupid because it has the M connector on the mobo witch is normally for NVMe
