Anyone out there have a CF-61 Service Manual or know how
to disassemble this model to get to the CMOS battery?
Panasonic is no help at all.
Thanks

You are correct that by todays standards this is a very low end machine.
However, a customer brought it in for repair and to investigate its
use as a router.
It's still a viable machine even if its used only for email. -
The questions are... Can we get manuals for the service and schematics? I thought I had them all but this one was not on my list...
Sniffer... Have you tried looking at one of Panny's sites and going intot their "Pre 2003" area? -
I've been on Panasonics site and didn't see the Pre 2003 area.
I will go back and look again. -
No service manuals there. The link to their [email protected] does not work.

Hmmm... I would just try cracking it open then... Let your nose and experience lead the way. I'm not sure how that one is put together. It almost looks plastic. Is it? Or is it magnesium? The reason I ask is that if it is truly magnesium then taking the screws out should get you there. If it is plastic... hen there may be those danged plastic latches (ALA Dull Laptops) that can be an issue. In that case you need to unscrew and carefully pry them apart.
Keep us posted!
