    Hi,
Can anyone point me in the right direction for spares.
I am in the UK and looking for a supplier if not in the UK then one who will ship to the UK.
Panasonic UK said send the laptop to them and they will fit them , not practical as partner needs it for work .
They also said to try Panasonic.de but they will not send parts to the UK.

The parts I am looking for :
Right Hinge Number DFBH1110ZA or DFBH1160YA
Left Hinge Number DFBH1109ZA or DFBH1159YA
    Touch Pad cover Number unknown.

I tried ebay & found 1 seller in the US for the hinges $31 per hinge they wont ship to the UK .
Found a company in germany wanting €70+ per hinge  did not ask if they post to UK.
Also a US company online $21 per hinge dont ship to UK.
Other US companies seem to be selling refurbs not too sure if they are wort the hassle.

No luck with touchpad cover as yet or do I need the whole unit ?.

Laptop has had a lot of use/abuse for last three years and was second hand so not sure how old it is, but in V good condition when purchased and I think a bargain for £250.

Pity lid wont stay up now.

Should add this is not the Touch Screen version

Sorry if this question has been asked before I did search CF-72 in this forums but nothing is showing up.

Hmmmmm... I'd try again with someone on ebay and plead your case. You might find a sympathetic ear somewhere. Try the old, "Going to college on a shoestring" and see if that works.

Have you tried rebuilding the hinges? That might work. It's just friction. Find a way to make them tighter. Either that or maybe one of the guys here has a spare set they might be able to ship.

    Anyone?

I think your best bet is just to buy a parts machine and take the hinges off. Take a look at this one:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200178017506

no guarantee it'll go cheap, but who knows. Unfortunately the seller is only shipping to the US (dumb!) but if you would like I can bid on it for you and ship it to you or just ship the parts you need, etc.

I don't know whether or not you would need the whole touchpad or not since I don't own nor have I seen in detail what it entails. I would however be willing to help you out if you wanted either the hinges or if I can located the touchpad part for you or if you wanted to I could try to get you an entire cf-72 for cheap off ebay and ship it to you. I would only expect for cost of item and actual shipping. I do not believe in charging someone extra for something because they are in a jam. Let me know if you are interested so I can check on them soon. I saw a few of the laptops on there for 30 something dollars the other day.

Hey Toughbook. I picked up the "consoles" today on my way home from work. We have one issue. They are not laptop consoles but are infact the entire electronics consoles for all the radio,siren,etc.. I hope that this is of help to you. I never even thought to ask you or my buddy when we first talked about this or when I asked him to see if he could get them. Let me know if you still want it. I can check to see if he can get the laptop cosole tower deals too but I don't know for sure.

Wow thank you both for the kind offer.

The US store I saw earlier selling, New I think, for $21.39 each was partstore.com
There are no pictures of the parts but it seems to recognise the old and new part code, also comes up as panasonic hinge which is good.

Not sure if they are genuine parts ??.

You can only find the part by searching the part number, if you follow the link computers and panasonic they dont show up.

That is as far as I got with them as they seem to have a block on all non US IP Address when you go to checkout.

I would rather have new parts if possible, in the hope they will last longer than part worn second hand ones.

Who knows they may also have the touchpad cover ,If I can just hunt down the part code.

Now I really need to go to bed it is nearly 4am here and my eyes are going crossed.

Will look back in here tonight once I have had some shut eye and my brain is less frazzled.

Any updates on what you think of this companies products would also be great.

Once again thanks for the offer and fast replies.

    Hi, Just an update.

I could not find anyone just selling the Touch Pad or a cover for it.

Finally found a US seller selling one for spares who would ship to the UK.

Fingers crossed the Touch pad will be compatable or I have just purchased some pretty expensive hinges lol.

Thanks again for the offers to dropship.
