I bought CF-28 600MHz and found it too slow for me (DIVX, internet etc). I'd like to buy something faster with USB 2.0, com port.

What do You think about it:

?? Is it a good price? I don't need a cd/dvd drive so this option would be good for me.

Does it support booting from USB? How noisy if fan inside? Have You got any links to reviews of this model??

What about cf50/51? CF29 is too expensive ;]

would the 1 GHz CF-28 be fast enough for what you're doing? I've watched movies on mine and was fairly pleased with the performance.

As far as the 73, I would ask you how important is "ruggedness" to you. I have experience with the 71s, and they were nowhere near as tough as the 25s we were also buying at the time. Since the 28 is the evolution of the 25 and the 73 is the evolution of the 71, I would think that the comparison would still be valid.

I don't think 1GHz would be enough. Also I must have encrypted HDD ( which slows system a bit).

I used to have some CF72, and they were strong enough for me (home usage, some travelling, gps, games ;) ). ( at work I still use CF27 P266MMX :D )

What would you recomend ? CF-73 or CF-51? CF-51 has much better screen, but CF-73 has a cool handle I like so much and was much more expensive when new......

I must chose something from ebay.com very fast ;) And have it until 19 in NY ;) (a friend of mine is there, he can bring it to Poland ;)

i'm going to have to defer to others on which is better. I personally couldn't imagine having a toughbook without a handle though!

I think it would be a good deal considering the 2nd battery. Though personally I'd add a 7200rpm hard drive. Just my 2 cents...

I don't know how long does it hold charge.... It might be 1 hour....

    Can it boot from usb?

What parts of CF-73 and CF-51 are made of magnesium? In CF-73 only "bottom" without parts around keyboard? In CF-51 only top lid? Am I correct?

I should be receiving one of my CF-73's any day now and having two 72's which I just fixed up for X-mas gifts for the family I would go for the 73 granted not as strong as a CF-29 (comparable speed) but the 29 costs three times more.
