I have a CF-73 that will not boot. This has not happened before. I have a second Toughbook and swapped the hard drive, and the hard drive from the defective unit boots and works fine. I'm thinking that this could be a problem with the mother board. Looking for any suggestions. This unit may not be worth putting too much money back into. Would buying another used unit that needs the good working parts from my unit be a viable solution? Would appreciate any advise.

Welcome to the forum. Can you get in the BIOS? I would pull out the wifi card, cd-rom and change the memory for starters and see what happens

    Welcome to the forum!

Does your CF-73 pass post? If it does it is most likely not a mobo error and is related to what Blair described.
