    Hi there!

I recently picked up 3 CF73 toughbooks. All three are the exact same model (ECLTXKM) with the exact same bios version and settings. I installed XP SP3 using a slipstreamed disk on all three laptops. I applied the exact same drivers to each one from a usb drive. The problem is that one of the three laptops touchscreens do not work. It detects the device and I apply the driver with no problems. When I go to calibrate the screen it will not accept any input.

Someone told me that during manufacturing, if a laptop does not pass quality control, they will pull the laptop and manually fix whatever the issue was which could make a "unique" laptop. He suggested I install XP SP1 and then apply the driver. I did this but there was no change. I also tried installing XP SP2 but again the same result.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what the problem could be?

Looks like hardware failure is most likely your problem.
You have eliminated driver issues as you have the same software load in 3 identical cf-73s.
You could swap caddy's just to be sure.
Just make sure that you have Enabled Touchscreen in the advanced Tab in the bios.
You can remove the hinge cover and see if a plug is coming loose for the touchsreen, and dissemble the screen cover to look for bad connections.
