I am having issues with my CF-C1 Toughbook. I just received it yesterday and have noticed the wireless connection randomly drops and it says "there are no networks available." This is not the case, as my network is always up.

I've reinstalled Windows 7 from the factory restore disc and it still drops.

If I put the computer to sleep and wake it back up, it will work for a few minutes, then drop.

    What gives?

Check the power options. The device could be set to turn off if idle in an effort to conserve power. If not that, be sure you have the latest drivers. If brand new drivers still have issues, roll back until you find a set that are stable. Could the device have sustained damage?

No damage. It's a brand new unit. I just updated the drivers from Intel's site, and it seems to be working for now...

Same issue.....installed Netgear 114P but most importantly I "let Windows manage my wireless connections". I'm unclear what the command would be in 7.
And it can never hurt to unplug the power from the router wait 30 sec. plug in again. If this is a new machine the router will dynamically assign an IP address to each unit on your system automatically.
There is a setting on the router to shut down after 5 minutes. I set this (idle time out) to 0. This "keeps alive" the connection.
    First off though:
    1. Shut-down Computer.
    2. Pull power cord wait plug in so router starts fresh for the session.
    3. Start computer F2 to bios and re-set to default. Check to make sure WLAN is enabled in bios.
    4. Also you can right click wireless and hit repair. This effectively or almost does 1 and 2.
    FWIW.
Where I have had my on/off issues is where windows was not managing the connection. My experience is limited to four or five routers, in XP but I did set up two this week.
    Again FWIW.
    Good luck.

Other are welcome to jump in on this.

Does it work at first, but it's off when you go back a bit later? A netbook I have was doing the same thing, it like an activity timer and if there is no activity, it turns off.
I found the timer switch in the info of the network card in the device manager. Click on the wlan adapter and details. I don't see the flag on the CF-51 here, I'll have to pull the netbook out and see what it's listed under..
